During 2016 TAG Heuer ran a campaign called ‘The Autavia Cup’. This allowed fans of the brand to pick which reference of the Autavia they should re-issue for 2017. With over 50,000 participants, the Heuer Autavia reference number 2446 came out on top. Apart from a few logical modern updates, the CBE2110 effectively retains the charm and allure of a 1960s Heuer chronograph. The most important contemporary changes include a size increase to 42mm from 39mm, the inclusion of a date window at six, modern fit and finish techniques, and an incredible movement. This thoroughly modern automatic column-wheel chronograph movement known as Caliber 02 from Heuer boasts 75 hours of power reserve ticking at 4Hz. Fortunately, this powerhouse of a movement can be seen through the display case back.
This Autavia Heritage keeps things suitably captivating and classic, but where it does decide to modernize, it’s done to the huge benefit of the wearer resulting in a timeless piece with endless style.
